Suffolk police are charging a man in connection with a fatal shooting

Police in Suffolk are searching for a man charged in connection with a fatal shooting in the city last week.

Police responded to the 1300 block of Blythewood Lane after shots were fired on May 9 around 6:38 p.m. Officers found 26-year-old Darrell Lamont Knight Jr. of Suffolk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Knight died at the scene.

According to Communications Director Jennifer Moore, 27-year-old Khalil Malik McGlone was charged with attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police are asking for the public's help in finding McGlone, who is known to be driving a black 2013 Volkswagen Passat with possible license plate TSE-4209.

Police did not say what may have led to the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Suffolk Police Department at 1-888-562-5887 or the Suffolk Crime Line.
