Football training session with flag for girls

PONTOON BEACH – Champions Sports Academy is offering a free girls flag football practice on May 24 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at The Field Sports Complex in Pontoon Beach.

The camp is open to girls ages 8 to 13. The session includes sport specific training, a Champions Sports Academy t-shirt, fun and competition.

Young people are given the opportunity to improve their personal development, leadership skills and sporting skills in a structured atmosphere. They learn the fundamentals of the sport and position-specific techniques that improve their game performance. In addition, the importance of sportsmanship and science is conveyed.

The main focus is to begin learning the basics through skill development while continuing to refine dexterity, balance and coordination. No previous knowledge is necessary.

The Illinois High School Association has approved the addition of girls flag football as a sanctioned sport starting next fall.

The Champions Sports Academy camps are led by trainers with many years of playing and coaching experience.
