Bengals 2024 Schedule Tracker: Updates on Opponents and Games

The NFL schedule is scheduled to be released tonight at 8 p.m. and all 32 teams will learn when they will play their 17 regular season games. The Bengals announced yesterday that they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. The game is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. on CBS (Local 12).

The schedule release will air on NFL Network and ESPN beginning at 8 p.m

The Bengals' opponents for this season were determined when the 2023 regular season ended, and with Cincinnati finishing last in the AFC North, they will play in fourth place.

While many expected the game between the Bengals and Chiefs to be in prime time, that didn't happen. NFL teams can play a maximum of six primetime games, and USA TODAY's Chris Bumbaca wants the Bengals to play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. Bumbaca wrote, “By Week 4, we're ready to see some great AFC games.” According to Sharp Football Analysis, the division has won 62.6% (106-63) of its games against non-AFC North opponents since 2020.

The NFL announced its international series games this morning and the Bengals were not there. In the 2024 international series there are five games in three different countries:

  • Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons in Sao Paulo
  • New York Jets vs Minnesota Vikings in London
  • Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears in London
  • New England Patriots vs. Jaguars in London
  • New York Giants vs. Carolina Panthers in Munich

How is the NFL schedule created?

The Bengals finished fourth in their division and will therefore play the rest of the fourth-place AFC. That's why they face the Titans and Patriots, who also finished fourth in their divisions.

In the NFL, each division also plays against two other divisions. This year the Bengals will play a total of eight games against the AFC West and the NFC East. The teams then play two games each against opponents in their own divisions, comprising six of the 17 games.

That's 16 of the 17 games the Bengals will play. The final game will be against a non-conference opponent based on final ranking from the previous season. That's where the trip against the Panthers comes in, completing the 17-game schedule.

How many prime time games does an NFL team have?

NFL teams are no longer guaranteed a primetime game, but teams are not allowed to play more than six primetime games during the season. The NFL also has exclusive rights to flex games in the final week of the season if necessary.

The final week consists of all division games, meaning the Bengals play either the Browns, Ravens or Steelers.
