Indiana Fever vs. New York Liberty live updates: Caitlin Clark's second WNBA game start time, as you see it

For Caitlin Clark, who made her WNBA debut Tuesday in a 92-71 loss to the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena, playing in front of a packed and loud crowd was nothing new.

The competition, however, was a different story.

Clark came back into the game in the fourth quarter with her Indiana Fever trailing by double digits. As if the first three periods of the game weren't stressful enough, a new challenge awaited Clark: five-time WNBA All-Defensive selection Alyssa Thomas was about to pick her up at the sideline.

Clark tried to give Thomas some space but couldn't shake her off, eventually handing the ball off to Aliyah Boston in the lane with just a few ticks left on the shot clock. Boston couldn't get things going fast enough and the Fever committed a turnover, their 21st of the game.

It was an opening game of its kind for Indiana, as its highly touted offense was stifled by the veteran Sun. The Fever gave the ball away 25 times and took 16 fewer shots than Connecticut, delaying Clark's first WNBA win for at least one more game.

Clark scored 20 points on 5 of 15 shooting and hit four three-pointers on 11 attempts. She went scoreless in the first quarter before scoring the first points of her professional career – a layup with 5:23 remaining in the second quarter. Clark made her first career three-pointer on the left wing, where she made more three-pointers than any other spot on the court last season at Iowa.

She had 10 turnovers, the most in WNBA history for a player in a first game.
