Not my words: Actor Karthik Kumar denies making casteist remarks in a viral audio clip

Karthik Kumar now clarified this in a video and said that this was not his voice. He shot the clip from inside a car and said: “That’s not my voice. These are not my words. I don't talk like that. I don’t have that vocabulary.” The clip is now going viral.

Earlier, Karthik Kumar's ex-wife Suchitra had claimed that he was gay. In response, Karthik posted a video on Instagram confirming that he is not gay. Although he did not identify his ex-wife, Karthik stated that he would not hide it if he was homosexual. He also encouraged people to be proud of their sexuality.

“If I’m gay, right? I wouldn't be ashamed of being gay. I would be very, very proud to have any kind of sexuality in the gigantic and magnificent spectrum of sexuality that is out there. I wouldn't be ashamed. I would be proud. I would attend a pride march in my city, which I will definitely do. People of all sexualities should attend the Pride event and show their support. There is no more shame. There's just pride. Be proud,” he said.
