The Lakers reportedly met with Bronny James at the NBA Draft Combine recently

As the NBA Draft process continues, the Los Angeles Lakers have been conducting their due diligence on potential suitors. One of those prospects the team has shown interest in is former USC Trojans guard Bronny James.

Part of the interest in James is that his father, LeBron, plays for the Lakers. The elder James has spoken at length about his desire to play alongside his son, and the organization appears ready to make that a reality.

According to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles met with Bronny at the NBA Draft Combine. This comes amidst all the rumors circulating about the pairing.

“As far as the draft goes, the Lakers appear to be the draft floor at pick 55 for Bronny James, a player the team interviewed in Chicago, according to sources not authorized to publicly discuss draft strategy .”

If the Lakers sign James, he would serve as a project player for the team. But having a good development team around you would be the best course of action.

Bronny really helped make his case with his strong performance at the NBA Combine and has been thinking about joining a team this summer. Only time will tell, but the Lakers appear to be interested in signing him.
