The Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies assigned to the Camarillo Patrol Station and working hand in hand with the VCSD Special Enforcement Unit once again reinforce the truth of the saying, “You can run, but you can't hide.” The Bureau and the Ventura County Aviation Unit conducted a multi-stage investigation, hunt and prosecution of a suspect responsible for an overnight stabbing in an agricultural field in the Somis area.

According to VCSD spokesman Sgt. Albert Ramirez, the stabbing occurred the night of May 6thTh. A 911 call brought patrol officers to the scene, where they found “a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.” The victim was immediately evacuated to a local hospital “where he underwent surgery,” while investigators learned that 31-year-old Moorpark resident Samuel Adolfo was the perpetrator of the violence.

Over the next nine days, investigators searched for Adolfo, and on May 15, they learned that he was “at a property” not far from the crime scene. As officers approached his reported location, Adolfo “attempted to evade by fleeing through agricultural fields.” His desperate efforts to avoid capture undoubtedly intensified when significant law enforcement forces arrived at the scene. Adolfo was eventually tackled to the ground by officers from the Special Enforcement Unit and the Ventura County Aviation Unit.

Adolfo was taken into custody and taken to the Ventura County Jail, where he was charged with attempted murder and bail was set at $540,000.
