Award-winning singer Fate Navairawho celebrates her 32nd birthday tomorrow, admitted that May is “always a roller coaster month” for her family as May 16 marks the death of her uncle. Emilio, Tejano's top superstar who led the genre in its heyday. Two days later is Destiny's birthday.

Added to this is the premiere of her bilingual love song “Forever” along with its accompanying music video this year, for which the singer hosted a release party on Thursday evening at Tony's Siesta, a popular bar in downtown San Antonio.

“It was so much fun,” Destiny said. “I think people are surprised by the video. It’s a little out of my comfort zone, but I think everyone was pleasantly surprised.”

The song “Forever” marks Navaira’s first recording in English and she hopes the bilingual ballad will serve as a bridge to higher goals, namely the English market, while, as Navaira says, “still staying true to my roots.”

“Actually I don't like the acting part, that's the most uncomfortable part for me, but I really wanted to feel the mood of the song,” she said. “I feel like this song is versatile because it can refer to any type of love, but I definitely wanted it to be like the classic love (in the video).”

Fate recognized her friend, Freddie Gutierrezthe actress and model who voiced her love interest in the “Forever” music video.

“So I think it's really different for me when I'm out of my element and acting with someone else,” she said. “Most of my videos are just about me.”

Destiny thanked her fans for their continued support and hopes they enjoy the changes in her music and as she matures as an artist. “I hope that everyone is open to this new change that I'm about to make, and I think 'Forever,' like I said, marks the beginning of that change,” Destiny said. “And I just want to tell everyone that I’m really excited. I'm evolving artistically, not only as a singer, but I'm ready to develop my art and really make my mark on the world.”
