An own goal error (53.)

Matt Miazga looked for relief and passed the ball backwards, almost certainly intended for Roman Celentano. But Celentano wasn't at home and the ball slipped straight into the FCC net to make it 2-1.

An insurance goal for Cincinnati (49th)

Luciano Acosta scored his 151st goal contribution as he assisted Yuya Kubo's fourth goal of the season. Kubo covered ball.

FCC leads to break

Acosta's goal was the only one of the half. Both clubs took six shots, but St. Louis' Roman Burki was the busier of the two goalies. Cincinnati was excellent at winning by a one-goal margin. They'll try again tonight in the second half.

Luciano Acosta was brought down in the penalty area to score a penalty, which he took for a 1-0 lead. Acosta has seven goals and seven assists for a total of 14 goal involvements this season, and he broke his own club record by scoring a goal and/or an assist in his eighth consecutive game.

Since Acosta didn't have enough about FC Cincinnati and MLS history: The goal was Acosta's 150th regular season goal contribution of his career, making him the second active player (Kei Kamara) and the 15th MLS player of all time, who achieved this feat.

A feeling out process (23')

We don't really see a good chance yet as the clubs, both heavily rotated, continue to test each other. With St. Louis making seven changes to its starting lineup, expect some inconsistent play.
