The Burning sun scandal rocked the South Korean entertainment industry in 2019. Now the BBC has released a documentary uncovering and exposing chats between the perpetrators Goo Hara's involvement in the scandal.

Burning Sun Scandal – Leaked Chats, Goo Hara's Involvement and More

On May 19, the BBC released an hour-long documentary about the Burning Sun scandal. The documentary program focuses on the journalists who have made it their mission to investigate secret sex chat groups of prominent K-pop stars. In the documentary, the BBC shared a series of never-before-seen chats from the groups, as well as a video of them BIG BANG Member Seungriwho was the “boss” of the sex chat rooms threatened a woman.

Aside from sharing leaked chats, that BBC documentary also revealed KARA star Goo Hara's crucial role in exposing those involved in the scandal. The late singer had helped a reporter investigating the scandal get leads on the case by convincing former FT Island member Choi Jong-hoon to tip her off about the senior police officer who was “after “The gang had been on the lookout.” For those unfamiliar, Choi Jong-hoon was part of the group chats where illegally recorded sex videos were shared.
