Discover Minnesota tourism benefits from Anthony Edwards' viral “Bring ya a**” comment

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (5) reacts in the second quarter against the Denver Nuggets in game seven of the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs at Ball Arena.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the most entertaining teams in the world N.B.A at the moment. With an incredible young star in Anthony Edwards, an ever-talented but overlooked All-Star in Karl-Anthony Towns, and a defensive master in Rudy Gobert, they defeated the defending champion Denver Nuggets in seven games in the Western Conference Semifinals.

It was a very competitive series with the teams trading blows throughout the series. But after a huge comeback win in Game 7, the Timberwolves celebrated their first trip to the Western Conference Finals since 2004.

At the ensuing postgame celebration, Edwards conducted an interview with “Inside the NBA” host Charles Barkley, in which Barkley admitted he hadn't been to Minnesota “probably in 20 years.” Edwards responded immediately, telling Barkley to “bring it.” [his] A**.”

While it was a very aggressive reaction considering Barkley was simply looking for some good restaurants when he visited, it was also hilarious and exactly what you would expect from a competitor like Edwards. Unsurprisingly, this clip went viral and Minnesota State wasted no time in capitalizing on it.

“Bring ya a**” could be the new slogan for Explore Minnesota Tourism

It didn't take long for Explore Minnesota Tourism, which works to bring people from other states to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, to capitalize on this viral interview. The website has acquired the domain rights for bringyaass.com and now any NBA fan looking for interesting news about Anthony Edwards will have the opportunity to travel to his home state.

Even Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz got in on the action, apparently considering changing the state's official slogan from “L'Étoile du Nord,” which means “Star of the North” in French, to “Bring ya a**.” Not as elegant, but perhaps more culturally effective.

Anthony Edwards' story of love for Minnesota

It seems so. This is not the first time he has openly expressed his love for the state. In February, Edwards told Vanity Fair that the bright lights of Los Angeles and New York weren't for him, claiming those cities are “cool” but “they're no better than Minnesota.”
