Disneyland's Elite Club 33 is getting its own crime thriller film

Hidden directly above Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbeanthe journey that started it Disney Parks Attraction-to-Film PipelineClub 33 is members-only, an exclusive destination for industry professionals, insider, the rich and famous and their lucky friends. There's a lot of mysticism in “Club 33,” something that a newly announced mystery film wants to take advantage of.

Deadpool and Wolverine Director Shawn Levy is producing the film alongside Dan Levine and Dan Cohen through 21 Laps Entertainment the Hollywood Reporter. The screenplay is written by Darren Lempke (Goose flesh), whose pitch is described as having Notice And Night at the museum vibes—and perhaps, we hope, a hint of Knife out lite.

THR shared a description of the film that's less about high society people trusting their friends with their memberships for the chance to enjoy the fanciest food at Disneyland — although there is an element of that. The fictional spin, possibly related to the Society of Adventurers and Explorers, which weaves together Disney attraction stories and universes, is about “Kim, a young aspiring detective living in modern-day New York who receives a mysterious invitation to an extremely mysterious adventure gets Club 33. In this case, it is a magical and exclusive dining club that exists outside of time and space. The members of the club are the greatest and most famous members of the past: geniuses, kings and historians.”

The offbeat nature of it alone makes us curious and we would love to see someone like Ayo Edebiri play the detective and get involved in the crazy Disney temporality (we can say that now). Doctor Who is on Disney+) with historical figures. And that’s not even the whole story: things will change when “a murder is committed shortly after they arrive [and] The guests expect Kim to solve the problem. Kim, unable to get out of her own way despite her brilliance, must rise to the occasion and find a way to catch the criminal among the greatest minds history has to offer.”
