Earlier this year, a report suggested that ChatGPT was dominating mobile market share, despite Microsoft's attempt to ship Copilot with free access to OpenAI's GPT-4 model and DALL-E 3 imaging technology on iOS and Android.

Interestingly, five months after the report was first published, not much has changed. A new report from App Store intelligence provider Appfigures shows that the recent launch of OpenAI's new flagship GPT-4o model with text, audio and voice reasoning capabilities contributed to ChatGPT's “biggest ever increase” in revenue and downloads on mobile devices (via TechCrunch).
