Arrest in connection with Incline Village murder in 2023

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (KOLO) – The Washoe County Sheriff's Office arrested a Reno man Thursday for killing a man in Incline Village nearly a year ago.

Alec Flores, 30, was charged with murder with a deadly weapon after killing Jeffrey McCunn of Incline Village on June 23, 2023. Murder means it could have been second-degree murder or manslaughter.

Officers went to a home near Jeffrey Street and Hazel Court and found McCunn dead.

During the sheriff's investigation, Flores was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest in Incline Village Court on May 14.

The Regional Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service found him in Reno on Thursday and arrested him.

“I am immensely proud of the perseverance shown by the men and women of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in their dedicated efforts on this case,” Sheriff Darin Balaam said in a statement. “I am also sincerely grateful to our Regional Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance in apprehending the suspect. I hope this arrest provides some closure for the victim's family and friends.”
