“Are you having a good time?!” HBO has released an official trailer for Ren Fairea documentary series that will be streaming on Max starting in June this summer. Who doesn't love the Renaissance Festival?! This documentary series goes even further and builds a narrative around the main characters of the Texas Renaissance Festival. Who will take the king's throne? A fantastic and absurd succession battle of Shakespearean proportions. A mixture of verité and fantasy, Ren Faire — a three-part docu-fantasy coming this summer — invites you to go behind the scenes of the famous Texas festival and discover a thrilling and hilarious follow-up drama. Featuring self-styled Shakespearean characters, the series tells the story of an epic power struggle between an actor, a former elephant trainer and a kettle corn boss, all vying for George's throne. King George's Peculiarities pile up, the suspense over who will be chosen rises to ever more operatic heights, against the backdrop of the staff imagining themselves in a real-life “Game of Thrones.” Ha ha. This looks super crazy and fun and wacky and of course like something that would only happen in Texas. My local Renaissance Festival was never The crazy.

As the majority shareholder of the festival in Todd Mission, he has enormous wealth. Now he is ready to give it all up and devote the last years of his life to finding a romantic partner. But before he retires, George will decide which of his longtime employees will crown him.
