Star Tribune All-Metro Sports Awards nominations now open for three special awards

Thoughtful people in our high school athletic community and its surroundings have nominated deserving individuals for three special Star Tribune honors over the past seven years. Now it's time to do so for the eighth consecutive year.

The Star Tribune is now accepting nominations for three special awards that will be announced June 25 at the seventh annual Star Tribune All-Metro Sports Awards ceremony at Target Field. Anyone can nominate a student, coach, leader or special person who is committed to prep sports. The awards are:

The Courage in Competition Award

This award is given to the student athlete who has demonstrated great courage in any form during this school year.

The Student First Award

Our academic achievement award is given to the student athlete who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

The difference maker of the year

As the culmination of each year, our Difference Maker Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional service and selflessness in supporting student-athletes and promoting school sports in their community.
