The Modified race at Franklin County Speedway was a hot affair

On Friday evening, the SMART Modified Tour race took place on the 3/8-mile Franklin County Speedway track in Callaway, Virginia.

With only 8 laps left in the race, Ryan Newman felt like he had been overtaken by Luke Baldwin, the son of Tommy Baldwin Jr. They were racing for the win. After the contact, neither driver had a chance of winning.

After the race, Ryan Newman tried to talk to Luke Baldwin. His father, Tommy Baldwin Jr., was not happy about it. The two faced each other…

Ryan Newman explained: “He drove me into the damn fence.”

Tommy Baldwin Jr. replied: “What do you think about a reboot…”

He was quickly interrupted by Newman, who added: “Are you driving the damn car? Then shut up and go back to your box.”

Baldwin then screams: “Fuck you!”

Newman: “Then f*** me!”

As he said this, Newman pushed Baldwin Jr. down pit road. Several crew members and drivers jumped in to separate the two.

Baldwin added, “Let him go. If you touch him, I'll kick your ass.”

Baldwin continued, “I've tried to talk to you. You're not fucking listening.”

Newman replied, “You're not driving the car! I'm going to talk to your boy.”

Baldwin: “I saw…”

Newman: “I don’t give a shit what you saw.”

Then Newman turned and walked away.
