Suspect in custody after breaking into ex-partner's home and firing a gun

A burglary suspect who broke into his ex-partner's home in Saugus early Sunday morning and allegedly fired a gun is in custody.

At around 2:40 a.m. Sunday morning, officers received reports of a break-in and shots fired in the 28000 block of Bouquet Canyon Road near David Way in Saugus, said Sergeant Elizondo of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

“Deputies responded to a call that shots had been fired,” Elizondo said.

According to initial radio traffic, a caller reported hearing three shots coming from the house.

After a search lasting several hours, the suspect was found.

“No one was injured and one person is in custody,” Elizondo said.
