May 16 USA Pickleball Statement on Sport Governance

For more than 40 years, USA Pickleball has been proud to be the national governing body for pickleball in the United States. Founded in 1984, USA Pickleball is a leader in all aspects of pickleball, including facilities, rules, recreational sport development, and hosting the sport's premier national championship.

USA Pickleball was founded as an all-volunteer organization at the beginning of the sport and grew in popularity over the decades until it became the fastest growing sport in America. USA Pickleball stands for the integrity, ethics and promotion of pickleball through its community development programs, referee program and 2,000-member ambassador program.

As a 501(c)(3) corporation, USA Pickleball is not for profit – it's pickleball – and the love of the game. USA Pickleball, like other national governing bodies of the Olympic and Paralympic movements, will continue to be a nonprofit organization whose sole mission and purpose is to promote the development and growth of pickleball in the United States and its territories.

We are grateful to our 80,000+ members and counting for their support in our work to grow pickleball at all levels of the game. USA Pickleball looks forward to serving this community for decades to come.
