All four Marin baseball and softball teams competing for sectional titles this week got a chance to continue their fight for postseason titles when the NorCal standings were revealed Sunday.

The Redwood High baseball team is the top-seeded team from Marin in both tournaments and the only one that had a home game. The Giants (No. 3, 26-4) will host Carmel (No. 6, 23-6) in the NorCal Division II quarterfinals on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, the championships will all take place on Saturday.

Redwood is coming off a 1-0 loss to Cardinal Newman in the North Coast Section D-II final on Saturday. A Redwood win on Tuesday opens the possibility of an all-Marin NorCals semifinal if No. 7 seed San Marin can pull off an upset of No. 2 seed St. Ignatius.

The Mustangs (22-8), who defeated Campolindo on Saturday to win the NCS D-III title, will head to Pacifica to face the Wildcats (20-10) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Fairmont Field.

The newly crowned NCS DV champions from the Branson School will also compete in NorCals as the No. 7 seed in Class D-IV. The Bulls (12-15) travel to Sacramento to face No. 2 Bradshaw Christian (29-1) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The Pride have won 13 consecutive games and outscored their opponents 316-42 this season.

Marin's only softball team still in contention is San Rafael. The Bulldogs (23-4) are the No. 6 seed in the D-III bracket and travel to face No. 3 Dixon (20-4) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

If San Rafael advances to the semifinals, it could be a rematch of Friday's NCS D-III championship game against Cardinal Newman — the No. 2 seed in NorCals. The Cardinals beat the Bulldogs 7-0 on Friday after the game was scoreless through the first five innings.
