Oregon Football No. 2 in Wisconsin's opponent rankings

National support for Oregon football is high, no matter who the opponent is.

A recent article in The Athletic ranked all of Wisconsin's new Big Ten Conference opponent's games for 2024. As you might imagine, Oregon landed high on the list.

The Ducks are No. 2 on the list. The Nov. 16 game will be played at Camp Randall Stadium, a week before the Badgers head to Nebraska and the Ducks have a week off.

The game in Lincoln is No. 8 on the list.

Alabama tops the list, with Wisconsin hosting the game on Sept. 14, the same week Oregon travels to Corvallis.

Wisconsin's other rivals ahead of Oregon are Iowa, Minnesota, USC, Penn State, Northwestern, Purdue, Western Michigan, Rutgers and South Dakota.

Despite the aura surrounding Alabama, Oregon might be the best team Wisconsin faces this fall. Dan Lanning's team is coming off a 12-win season and a Fiesta Bowl victory.

The matchup also bodes well for Oregon. Under Luke Fickell, Wisconsin has moved away from the extremely physical, down-to-earth style of play it was known for. Fickell's Cincinnati offense is much more pass-heavy, a recipe for disaster against a Ducks defense that has faced Pac-12 quarterbacks with the same intentions every week.

Oregon opens the 2024 season on August 31 against Idaho.
