That's exactly what they did by hiring former Troy head coach Jon Sumrall and bringing in quarterback Ty Thompson, who transferred from Oregon.

Former Oregon quarterback Ty Thompson transfers to Tulane

Tulane loses AAC Player of the Year Michael Pratt as he turns his attention to the NFL Draft, but the Green Wave has acquired another talented passer.

Ty Thompson, a former four-star recruit, is transferring to Tulane from Oregon. As a sophomore who mostly sat behind Bo Nix in 2023, he completed 24 of 31 passes for 297 yards, four touchdowns and one interception with a 77% success rate and ran for 48 yards.
