Admit card for preliminary examination will be sent this week

The admit cards for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, which has been postponed to June 16, will be made available by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) soon. The exam was originally scheduled to be held on May 26. Once released, candidates can download their admit cards from the official website

The admit card is expected to be issued in the first week of June.

The official announcement states that this exam will be used to fill around 1,056 posts in various departments and services of the central government such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Forty of these posts are for the Persons with Benchmark Disability category.

Examination phases

-Civil Service (Preliminary Examination): An objective examination to select candidates for the main examination.
-Civil Service (Main Examination): A written examination followed by an interview to select candidates for various services and positions.


There will be two sessions of objective UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024. The General Studies (GS) exam will be conducted in the morning from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) will be conducted in the afternoon from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
