Alex Prager on his new reality-blurring work “Western Mechanics”

“Humanity is always at the heart of my work,” says Alex Prager, known for her colorful images that blur the line between reality and fiction.

The American photographer and Emmy-winning filmmaker uses “artifice and exaggerated or blurred representations of time, color and scale as access points to something very real that people can connect to” in her work to address subjects that “might be too difficult to tackle directly,” she adds.
