Rankin County man arrested after shooting that left one person dead and another injured

A Rankin County man is behind bars for a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

On Sunday around 9 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call about shots fired at a residence in the 200 block of Circle Drive in Robinhood.

Upon arrival, officers found a 36-year-old man dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The second gunshot victim, an unidentified woman, was found in a store not far from the residence. She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

The suspected shooter, Seth Tyler Wilder, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Rankin County Jail on murder charges. His bail was set at $1 million.

Authorities are still investigating the fatal shooting. The deceased victim's name will be released by Rankin County Coroner David Ruth once his next of kin has been notified.
