Meanwhile, Download boss Andy Copping announced last week that a “big band” will make a surprise appearance at this year’s edition of the festival.

Copping recently hosted a one-hour show on Planet Rock was called Andy Copping's Secrets of Download during the holiday (May 27th) and revealed that fans should look out for a secret set this year.

“One thing is for sure, you'll have to keep your eyes and ears peeled at Download this year because, yes, we have another band playing a secret set. Something very, very special. Big band. So keep an eye out for that.”

The time and location of the secret performance have not yet been confirmed, but fans spotted a noticeable gap on the Dogtooth Stage between Dying Fetus and Fear Factory on Saturday, leading to speculation that the secret band might play an intimate performance there.

In addition, new guidance was given to Download Festival attendees ahead of this year's event to avoid a repeat of last year's “unprecedented” congestion.
