MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County officials arrested two suspects last month after a chase ended at over 100 mph in Houston County.

It began on May 24, when a Land Rover Discovery that was allegedly racing another car on Pio Nono Avenue refused to stop for a traffic stop, according to a Facebook post from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Officers say the driver of the Land Rover, 21-year-old Amarion Montrevis Dominque Askew, ignored the officer's attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle sped away, disregarding red lights and driving recklessly. The chase extended into Houston County, where Askew exited the moving vehicle with a firearm and attempted to flee.

Video provided by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office shows the deputy giving Askew nearly a dozen commands and warnings before using a Taser to subdue him. Askew, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment, faces several charges including fleeing and eluding, obstruction of justice and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest in Houston County.

An 18-year-old passenger, Zanoah J. Mosley, was also taken into custody and charged with fleeing and eluding and obstruction of justice.
