Claim: NDTV Newsbyte of Chandrababu Naidu criticising Narendra Modi after the victory of TDP-JNP-BJP alliance in 2024 general elections.

Fact: This clip is from February 2019, when Chandrababu Naidu spoke to NDTV during a dharna in New Delhi to demand special status for Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the media after his victory in the 2024 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Naidu said, “We are in the NDA; I am going to an NDA meeting. In due course of time, we will tell you everything.” Therefore, the claim made in the post is Misleading.

First, a quick internet search using relevant keywords revealed that the viral video was a short excerpt from a nearly 13-minute video report that NDTV had published on YouTube in February 2019.

This was a report on a protest rally called ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ (here, here and here) held by Chandrababu Naidu in New Delhi in 2019 demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh.

The clip in the viral video can be seen from minute 7:02. This makes it clear that a video taken before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is being shared as a recent video of Naidu criticising Modi.

After the Telugu Desam Party-Janasena-BJP alliance won the 2024 general elections, Chandrababu Naidu held a press conference on June 5, 2024, which was streamed on the official YouTube channel of the TDP. In this press conference, Naidu said that he wanted to meet the media and thank the people of AP for giving a clear mandate to the alliance before leaving for a meeting in New Delhi. At around 21:29 in the video, he says, “We are in the NDA, I am going to an NDA meeting. In due course of time… we will report to you whatever.” This contradicts the viral claim.

In conclusion, an old video from 2019 is being passed off as Chandrababu Naidu criticising Narendra Modi after the TDP-JNP-BJP alliance won the 2024 assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
