It's been 15 years since Brittany Murphy died at age 32, but the actress is far from forgotten. Her memory lives on in film and television work, and most recently in one of her most popular films, the 2003 comedy. Uptown Girlshas been generating a lot of buzz. The popular comedy has gone viral on TikTok over the past few months, and it seems users can't get enough of it. The film's virality even caught the attention of Murphy's co-star Dakota Fanning, who lovingly credited the late star for his resurgence.

The recent boom in the feel-good comedy from 2003 is due to millennials and Generation Z sharing two particular clips. One is the teacup scene at the amusement park where Ray has an emotional breakthrough with her father, and the other is the kitchen scene where Ray gives Molly a rundown of who's in charge. Dakota Fanning confirmed Uptown Girls' newfound popularity in conversation with Brit + Co. When asked about the love the film has received, the observer Star said:

I love it. I think it's nostalgic for people my age who grew up with this film. I think it's a comfort film for people. And that's why I think it's great that people still watch it again and love it and maybe understand it – now that everyone is older, [they’re] understand different things about it, you know? So, I love that.
