Edmonton Oilers fan who showed her breasts thought she had avoided a viral break by reporting the clip – ‘but it came back with a vengeance’

The Edmonton Oilers fan who caused a stir by exposing her breasts at an NHL game has revealed she thought she could have kept the video under wraps before it went viral.

After days of silence, “Kate” spoke out on the hockey podcast Spittin' Chiclets about her whirlwind 15 minutes of fame. She was filmed flashing the camera during Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on May 31, celebrating the Oilers' victory over the Dallas Stars.

The clip went viral, porn sites tried to find her and offer her work, and yet she remained “the most mysterious woman in hockey,” as the podcast described her before finally bringing her on the show.

Kate, 34, initially seemed hesitant to take off her mask, wearing sunglasses and a cap at the start of her performance before speaking at length about her unwanted fame.

“I'm still trying to participate in the Witness Relocation Program a little bit,” she joked. “It wasn't planned or anything, it just happened.”

'Kate' showed her breasts during the fifth game of the NHL Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars on May 31

The Edmonton Oilers fan who became known for showing her breasts at a game calls herself “Kate,” according to a Barstool Sports podcast she appeared on Monday.

“It was like when she first saw the video that night and I was on Twitter. And I had it removed, I reported it.

“I was like, 'Okay, it's gone, we took care of it,' and then it came back with a vengeance. It wasn't someone I was dating (who posted it).”

In the days leading up to her appearance on the podcast, Kate had deleted all of her social media accounts to hide her identity as the video had been viewed millions of times on social media.

She said her co-workers – at an oil field in Canada – “definitely know” she is in the footage.

“Only people I really know have said anything,” she added, before revealing that she feels overwhelmed when people say she can inspire the team to overturn a 2-0 deficit against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup series.

“Honestly, when they lost the game last night, I wanted to get in my truck, drive out into the bush, build myself a little shack out of damn sticks and live in it after seeing everyone say, 'Ah, we need them.'”

“I don't understand why they need me. But apparently I've made myself that person and now I don't know what to do about it. I'm not in a position to give motivational talks to anyone.”

The Oilers trail the Panthers 2-0 but host the next two games of the series at Rodgers Place in Edmonton, with Game 3 on Thursday night and Game 4 on Saturday.

Kate said she didn't have tickets but was invited to one of the games later this week on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast.

“It certainly sounds like an interesting opportunity,” she said. “I can imagine what this week will look like based on the work.”
