Glitter-eating Golden Retriever becomes a hit at the White Sox game against the Mariners

Glitter-eating golden retriever goes viral at White Sox-Mariners game. Originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago.

In one respect, the MLB undoubtedly has an advantage over other major American sports leagues: when it comes to Dog Day.

Each year, certain teams select a handful of games from their regular season schedule to allow fans to bring their furry friends to the stadium.

Because the only thing better than spending a wonderful evening at the ballpark is spending a wonderful evening at the ballpark with your Golden Retriever.

That's what happened to thousands of fans at T-Mobile Park on Monday as the Seattle Mariners hosted their second “Bark at the Park” event of the season. Even the pups seemed to enjoy their night on the town.

The NBC Sports Chicago camera crew got a great shot of a golden retriever wearing a Mariners hat in the stands munching on a hot dog, bun and all. The hot dog appeared to be garnished with both ketchup and mustard.

The clip, posted by NBC Sports Chicago on X, went viral, garnering nearly 2.5 million views in less than 24 hours.

We cannot confirm or deny reports that the affected dog will replace Joey Chestnut at Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4th in Coney Island.
