Hank Voigt actor Jason Beghe reveals the context behind the viral photo of Jon Seda reuniting with his former Chicago Police co-stars and addresses the possibility of Antonio Dawson coming back. Intelligence seems to shrink every year, there are major departures. Although he is not the first main character to leave the series, Sedas Dawson will be in Chicago Police Season 6 was kind of the start of this trend. Since then, Intelligence has overcome this loss, but given the way his fate was described, there is still hope that he will come back and reprise his role as Dawson.

As it turns out, he invited his former co-star to the meeting. The background was that we had a party for the cast and I had been talking to Jon and we wanted to meet. And I said, 'Hey, why don't you just come to the party and be my date?' That was the meaning of him and apparently it was all over. I don't read newspapers but people were saying it was all over, such a big deal. Of course it would be wonderful to have him back. He's a fantastic actor and just a classy gentleman, professional, just a fantastic human being. So, I'm in, but I'm not the one to decide that. But if he's interested, I'm sure we could at least create some space for a story arc if he doesn't want to be a series regular. But yeah, we could use some new people, who knows, maybe Antonio will come back.

Seda was an original cast member of One Chicago. Chicago Police Premiere, he was already an established member of Voight's intelligence team. He was the squad's deputy leader, which came with his seniority in the job. Dawson would join Chicago Justice — the fourth season of Dick Wolf's One Chicago, which was unfortunately canceled after just one season. This paved the way for his return to his original series, but not long after, he was eventually written out of the series after becoming addicted to opioids.
