Smile 2 Viral Marketing introduces pop star Skye Riley

The sequel to the 2022 horror film by writer and director Parker Finn Smile (read our review HERE, watch the film HERE) aims at a 18 Octobertheatrical release – and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have noticed that a viral marketing campaign for Smile 2 seems to be underway. Billboards for a previously unknown pop star named Skye Riley have appeared in Los Angeles and London, there is a Skye Riley fan account on Instagram, an official website – and these promos come with the promise that the new single “Blood on White Satin” will be released on June 18th. The suspicion is that Skye Riley is the main character Naomi Scott from Aladdin And Charlie's Angels plays in Smile 2and that the first trailer for the film may be revealed on June 18th.

That would make sense as a trailer for Smile 2 was shown back in April at CinemaCon and JoBlo's own Lance Vlcek reported that Naomi Scott plays a pop star in the film. Here's what Lance wrote about the trailer: The story seems to revolve around a megastar artist of the Taylor Swift (Naomi Scott) type who gets sucked into the curse of Smile. The sequel has a bigger budget and a slicker look and seems to have a bigger scope. There was a very cool scene where a crowd of people under the creature's control in a narrow backstage corridor chase Naomi Scott, all smiling in this creepy way. As for the plot, it doesn't give much away. It was a montage of creepy images, jump scares and a whole lot of creepy people smiling.

Smile based on Finn's short film Laura didn't sleep (watch HERE), which won the Special Jury Recognition Prize in the Midnight Short category at SXSW. Caitlin Stasey (Neighbors) played the title character in this short film and takes on this role again in Smilewhich makes it a sequel of sorts. Smile has the following summary: After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) begins experiencing frightening events she cannot explain. As overwhelming terror begins to take over her life, Rose must confront her disturbing past in order to survive and escape her terrifying new reality.

Smile was produced by Temple Hill and they produce Smile 2 Scott is supported in the cast by Lukas Gage, The White Lotus And YouRosemarie DeWitt from LaLaLand and that poltergeist Remake, Dylan Gelula by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt And Dream scenarioRaul Castillo from Army of the Dead And Knife outMiles Gutierrez-Riley from The wilderness And On the way upand Kyle Gallner (Red State), who reprises the role he played in the first film.
