Woman warns after passenger denied boarding flight after attempting to use viral packing hack

The American passenger was taken away by police in Orlando

Packing for your summer vacation can be a real pain.

Nobody wants to pay to have their luggage stored in the cargo hold, and who would wait for their luggage to be unloaded from the plane when they could already be on their way to the hotel bar?

But trying to pack everything you need for your trip into a single carry-on bag can be impossible and almost always ends with you skimping on something and taking less than you actually want.

That's why there are plenty of tricks on social media to make the most of space and even get around carry-on liquid restrictions.

Another trick you've probably seen is the viral “pillow hack,” where travelers stuff their clothes into pillowcases and neck pillows to avoid excess baggage fees.

According to the videos, a pillow is considered a “comfort item” and means you don’t have to pay for an extra bag.

Unfortunately for those who wanted to try it out, airport staff seem to have figured out the trick, as one passenger found out the hard way.

In a video shared by @natashaorganic on TikTok, a traveler showed up at Orlando International Airport with a pillowcase full of belongings in her hand, but was stopped by a flight attendant.

“Stop relying on social media for tips and tricks because sometimes it doesn't work,” she said in the clip as she filmed the passenger arguing with a staff member in an orange vest.

“This guy was trying to get a pillowcase full of clothes and stuff in that he claimed was just a pillowcase, and the guy was like, 'Dude, everyone can see that's not a f***ing pillow, so come on,'” she continued.

According to Natasha, the man was offered to pay the set fee for additional hand luggage, but he declined.

Towards the end of the video, he can be heard saying that he is willing to pay in a last-ditch attempt to get on the plane, but it is too late.

“He kept waiting until they closed the doors to say, 'Okay, I'll pay now,'” Natasha explained. “And then he tried to somehow sneak into the damn, I don't know what it's called, before you get on the plane.”

She added: “And they said, 'Brother, go away. We gave you your chance and you didn't pay for it.' And they ended up calling the police. And he ended up being escorted out, so stop listening to the internet.”
