A serial killer who is already on death row for the murders of 14 women in California is said to have strangled another woman in Utah more than two decades ago.

It is the first known murder that 57-year-old Chester Turner is believed to have committed outside of Los Angeles, authorities said. The Salt Lake City District Attorney's Office announced Friday that Turner has been charged with aggravated murder. Prosecutors say he killed Itisha Camp, who was in her early 20s, in 1998. Three teenagers flagged down a Salt Lake City police officer on Sept. 24, 1998, after finding a body with a scarf wrapped around its neck at the bottom of a staircase behind a store at 165 East 900 South in Salt Lake City, a complaint states.
