New York Mets fans are leaning on the meme.

On Sunday, the Mets faced the San Diego Padres in the third and final game of their weekend series. A fan of the game, played at Citi Field, made a name for himself with the priceless jersey he wore to the stadium. The jersey read “Grimace” and the number 55.

Mets reporter Mike Janela shared the great photo.

This is a reference to the moody McDonald's character Grimace (of Grimace Shake fame). Grimace notably threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Mets' game against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday.

The Mets, who have struggled for most of the season, won that game against the Marlins … and every game since. They also completed the series sweep of the Padres with an 11-6 win on Sunday, moving them to a perfect 5-0 since Grimace's first pitch.

With results like that, it's no wonder Mets fans have started praying at the altar of the almighty Grimace. Fans have obviously been through a lot this year, but it looks like a purple fast-food mascot might finally pull the team out of its sorrows.
