New Delhi: A 42-year-old man, who is on the run for triple murders, including that of his wife over an extra-marital affair, was arrested on Sunday, police said. Nitin Verma evaded his suspended sentence a year after his arrest in 2008 and has been absconding since then, they said. “On April 19, 2008, the Dwarka police station received information that two or three persons were murdered on Road No. 9 in Palam village in Delhi,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) Amit Goel. When the police entered the house, they found the bodies of a man and two women. The bodies were covered in blood and had multiple wounds, Goel said. There was no evidence of robbery.” Accordingly, an FIR under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC was registered on April 19, 2008 and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, it was found that the son of two of the deceased was also admitted to the DDU hospital with injuries,” the DCP said. During the investigation, it was found that Nitin Verma had murdered his pregnant wife and both the parents over an extramarital affair, he said. PTI
